How to use HDMI eARC or ARC for CEC control

This guide explains how to use HDMI ARC/eARC and CEC control on your VANGOA device to output TV audio and control playback using your TV remote.

◆Before you begin

-Ensure your TV supports HDMI ARC or eARC.

-Use an HDMI cable connected to a TV port labeled ARC or eARC.

-Ensure your VANGOA device supports HDMI ARC/eARC and is powered on.

-Enable CEC in your TV settings (CEC may have different names on different TV brands).

♦Connection Steps

1. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC/eARC port on your TV.

Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC port on your VANGOA device.

3. Turn on both the TV and the VANGOA device.

4. On the TV, set the audio output to HDMI ARC/eARC.

5.On the VANGOA device, switch to TV input mode.

Using CEC Control

1. Ensure CEC is enabled on both the TV and the VANGOA device.

2. Use the TV remote to control the volume on the VANGOA device.

3. Turn the TV on or off to automatically wake it up or put the VANGOA device into standby mode (depending on the TV).

Notes

- eARC requires both the TV and the VANGOA device to support eARC.

- CEC behavior may vary depending on the TV brand and model.

- Some TVs require a restart after enabling ARC or CEC settings.

 Troubleshooting Tips

1.If there is no sound, check if the HDMI cable is connected to the TV's ARC/eARC port.

2.Ensure the TV's audio output is set to HDMI ARC/eARC, not the TV speakers.

3.Ensure the TV's audio output format is set to PCM.

4.Turn both devices off and unplug them for 30 seconds, then turn them back on.

5.If the connection is unstable, try replacing the HDMI cable.

6.If CEC is not working, disable and re-enable CEC in the TV settings.
