No sound at HDMI ARC or eARC Input
This guide can help you resolve no-sound issues when connecting your VANOA device to your TV using HDMI ARC or eARC inputs.
Before you begin:
-- Ensure both your VANOA device and TV are powered on.
-- Use a high-quality HDMI cable (eARC requires an HDMI 2.1 cable).
-- Verify that the HDMI cable is connected to the HDMI port on your TV labeled ARC/eARC.
Step 1: Confirm TV HDMI ARC/eARC Settings
1. Open your TV's audio settings.
2. Set the audio output to HDMI ARC or eARC.
3. Enable CEC (which may be called Anynet+, Simplink, Bravia Sync, VIERA Link, etc.).
Most TVs require CEC to be enabled for ARC/eARC to function correctly.
Step 2: Check TV Audio Format Compatibility
Set the digital audio output format to PCM.
Disable Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Atmos, or DTS during testing.
Unsupported audio formats will result in no sound.
Step 3: Verify the VANOA Input Source
1. Open the VANOA application (4STREAM application).
2. Select HDMI ARC/eARC as the input source.
3. Ensure the device is not muted and the volume is above the minimum value.
Step 4: Reboot the HDMI Connection
1.Turn off the power to both the TV and the VANOA device.
2.Disconnect the HDMI cable from both ends.
3.Wait 30 seconds, reconnect the cable, and then turn on the TV first.
4.Finally, turn on the VANOA device.
This will reset the HDMI handshake and CEC communication.
Step 5: Test with a Different HDMI Cable or TV Port
Try a different HDMI cable (especially for eARC devices).
Confirm that the TV port supports ARC/eARC—not all HDMI ports support it.
If you have another TV, test with that TV.
Test using the optical input to check if the problem is related to the HDMI ARC/eARC input.
Notes
- ARC and eARC only work through the TV's ARC/eARC port.
- eARC offers higher bandwidth and better format support than ARC.
- Some TVs automatically disable the built-in speakers when ARC is activated.
- Firmware updates on the TV or VANOA device may affect ARC functionality.
Troubleshooting Tips
1. Turn off all audio processing functions (surround sound, virtual sound) on your TV.
2. Update the firmware of both your TV and VANGOA device to the latest version.
3. Avoid using an HDMI switcher or splitter between your TV and VANGOA device.
4. If there is still no sound, try testing with the optical output temporarily.
5. If the problem persists, contact our customer service.
