Noise or hissing sound at analog output (AUX or RCA)

This guide can help you resolve noise, hum, hiss, or crackling sounds that occur when using the analog output (AUX/RCA) of your VANGA devices.

Common symptoms:

Hissing sound persists in the background even when the music is paused.

- - Buzzing or hissing (especially at low volumes)

Noise increases when touching cables or equipment

One channel is noisier than the other.

Step 1: Check Analog Cable Quality

1. Use shielded stereo audio cables (TRS cable for 3.5mm output, dual RCA cable for RCA output).

2. Avoid using excessively long analog cables.

3. Replace the cable to rule out the possibility of poor shielding or internal damage.

Low-quality or damaged cables are the most common cause of analog noise.

Step 2: Check Power Supply and Grounding

1. Ensure the VANGOA device and amplifier are powered from the same power outlet.

2. Avoid using ungrounded or substandard power adapters.

3. Unplug nearby power supplies, chargers, or LED drivers to test for interference.

Ground loops or power supply noise can introduce hum or hissing sounds into analog signals.

Step 3: Adjust Volume and Gain Stages

1. Set the VANOA device volume to 70–90%.

2. Use an amplifier or powered speakers to control the final listening volume.

3. Avoid turning both the device and amplifier volumes to maximum simultaneously.

Incorrect gain stage settings will amplify background noise.

Step 4: Eliminate External Interference

1. Keep analog cables away from power cords and power adapters.

2. Keep the device away from Wi-Fi routers, Bluetooth transmitters, or large transformers.

3. If possible, disable unused audio inputs on the amplifier.

Analog signals are susceptible to electromagnetic interference.

Step 5: Check Output Mode and Source

1. Test using different audio sources (Wi-Fi streaming, Bluetooth, line-in).

2. Pause playback and check if noise is present when there is no sound.

If the noise persists after pausing, it may be a hardware, cable, or power-related issue.

Step 6: Test with other amplifiers or speakers

1. Connect the analog output to another amplifier or active speaker.

2. Test the original amplifier using other audio sources.

3. Compare the results to identify the source of the noise.

This helps determine whether the problem lies with the VANGOA device or downstream equipment.

Notes

- Analog outputs inherently have a low noise floor, especially with high-gain amplifiers.

- Very sensitive speakers may produce low-frequency hissing that is normally inaudible.

- Digital outputs (optical/coaxial) are unaffected by analog noise.

Troubleshooting Tips

1.Turn off all devices and unplug the power cords for 30 seconds before reconnecting.

2. Avoid using audio adapters designed for microphones or mobile phone headsets.

3. If the noise persists, contact VANGOA technical support. Please provide your device model, cable type, and power settings.
