The device is connected, but keeps disconnecting or not appearing in the application

If your VANGOA device has been successfully set up but you are experiencing the following issues:

o Disconnecting from WiFi during use

o Intermittently not appearing in the app

o Unable to reconnect after initial setup

o The WiFi LED indicator shows it's connected, but the app cannot find the device

This guide will help you identify and resolve the most common causes.

1. Check WiFi Signal Stability

Even if setup is successful, a weak or unstable signal can cause disconnections.

o Place your device within 2-5 meters (6-16 feet) of the router.

o Avoid obstructions such as walls, metal surfaces, or cabinets.

o Avoid placing your device near sources of interference (TVs, microwaves, etc.).

* If possible, test your device next to the router to rule out signal issues.

2. Ensure you are using the correct WiFi band [2.4GHz only]

[VANGOA-P30 devices only support 2.4GHz networks]

o Using dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz and 5GHz, using the same SSID) may result in network connectivity issues or network instability.

We recommend:

o Differentiating SSIDs (e.g., Home_2.4G / Home_5G)

o Alternatively, force a connection to the 2.4GHz band during setup and use.

3. Router Compatibility and Network Settings

Some router configurations may block or interrupt communication.

Please check the following settings:

o AP Isolation/Client Isolation → Off

o Multicast → Enabled

o IGMP Listening → Enabled (Recommended)

o DHCP → Enabled

If these features are disabled or restricted, your phone may not be able to detect the device even if it is connected.

4. If the device indicator light shows it's connected to WiFi, but the application can't find the device:

Possible cause: Network or firewall restrictions

VANGOA devices rely on local network communication using specific ports.

Please ensure your router or mobile firewall is not blocking the following ports:

o 1900(UPnP/SSDP discovery)

o 2018 / 2345 / 7777(device communication)

Check:

o Temporarily disable router firewall restrictions

o Disable mobile security/firewall applications

o Avoid using guest networks (these networks often block device discovery)

5. Avoid using guest Wi-Fi or a separate network

Guest networks often hinder communication between devices.

o Ensure both your phone and VANGOA device are connected to the main network.

o Avoid using networks that restrict communication between devices.

6. Restart your network and devices

A simple restart can resolve many instability issues::

00001. Restart your router

00002. Restart your VANGOA device

00003. Restart your phone

Then reopen the app and check again.

7. Reduce network congestion

Too many connected devices or excessive network traffic can affect stability.

o Limit the number of devices playing simultaneously.

o Avoid downloading large files during playback.

o Other devices should use a 5GHz network; VANOA should use a 2.4GHz network.

8. Optional: Use a wired connection for optimal stability

For the most stable experience:

o Connect your VANOA device via Ethernet cable

o This eliminates WiFi interference and ensures stable performance.
